I have Windows 10 1809 Build 17763.557. Everything appears to be running fine. I decided to do a sfc/scannow in prep for v1903. SFC found 18 non repairable errors. I also ran the DISM utility. Both in safe mode. I ran SFCFix and it failed with SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro has encountered an unhandled exception. 12 of the errors point to 2 component files from Avast which I do not use - Avast.VC140.MFC & Avast.VC140.CRT. I ran the Avast clean program, but no fix. 4 errors point to an old version of Microsoft Edge, the current version of Edge works, I just do not use it. 2 errors point to Microsoft -Windows-Internet-Browser which I assume to be IE which I do not use and have it disabled. I have 1 SFCFix crash report which is too big to attach. I also ran tweaking.com to fix the component store, but no fix.

Do I need to fix these issues? If so what would you suggest as next steps. Thanks. Andy

I found out why SFCFix aborted. For some reason my CBS.LOG was created in compressed mode. I uncompressed it and SFCFix ran to completion, no errors. Apparently those SFC notifications in the CBS log will not cause problems with 1903. I have been getting build updates to 1809 just fine. So we shall see when it comes at me. Thanks. Andy

I am not sure. SFCFix comes out clean, but SFC/Scannow does not. If you get a chance, look at my attached report. It is only 2 pages. It seems like there is some minor corruption that cannot be fixed. The system is working fine. Let me know your opinion. Much appreciated. Andy

Thank you for looking into the log. I fully intend to upgrade to 1903. I have an older Dell AIO Inspiron One 2020. Some of the mitigated issues with 1903 may impact this and I am waiting till they are on the resolved list. When 1903 first came out I hit the check now button, looking for something else not knowing that 1903 was going to come down. It did and Chrome and Firefox went crazy. I had to do a system restore from the prior night and all is good. That is why I was concerned about the SFC and the unresolved 1903 issues. FYI when I did 1809, went real smooth. Just being cautious after the first 1903 attempt.
Anyway, thank you again for your comments. Andy
