Windows 8 hangs on automatic OR manual updates. Will not update to 8.1 either.

I did *something* several days ago to give me an error code and I researched it to find this area. I believe the error code was 0x800703F1, that's what my history shows I looked at, but I foolishly didn't write it down.

However, I *did* follow the instructions, ran SFCFix, and several files are included here:

I could not get the file upload to work, so Dropbox it is.

I hope y'all can help.

This looks good.

Which update are you attempting to install?

What is the make and model of your computer?
It appears that there is something unusual going on with your drivers:

Hi, I've been experiencing the same issue. However, I did the Scannow thing, but it wouldn't let me access the pathway, to get the log for. It did the dame thing on my Previous Computer for Windows 8, to 8.1 with Media Center. Now with Windows 8 Pro, to Windows 8.1 Pro. I was tempted to cal Microsoft directly for help, but figured it may be easier here. For some reason, my computer seems to be fine, and I can update everything else just gone, but can't update to windows 8.1 at all.

Try this:

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip and attach this to your next post.
