Hi I have a wireless connection issue (obviously) and my laptop is running windows 8.1 pro

I can't send anything out from my laptop so I'll type out the ipconfig result as best I can :

Host name.... stu-10157
Primary dns suffix... olmcheidelberg.catholic.edu.au
Node type... Hybrid
Ip routing enabled... No
WINS Proxy enabled.... No
DNS Suffix Search List.... olmcheidelberg.catholic.edu.au

My anti-virus is Symantec endpoint protection but I cannot seem to open it now for some reason. It usually works fine but it may be caused by the wifi issue?

The only network adapter I can see in device manager is Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
If I view hidden devices, others that are not greyed out is Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter
This laptop is actually school configured but I'd appreciate it if you could help me resolve this without their help!!

I have referred to my friend's laptop and her network adapters are:
Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
WAN miniport (IKEV2)
WAN miniport (IP)
WAN miniport (Ipv6)
WAN miniport (L2TP)
WAN miniport (Network monitor)
WAN miniport (PPPOE)
WAN miniport (PPTP)
WAN miniport (SSTP)

Although her laptop is Windows 10 (also school configured), I was updating my drivers individually before anything happened and I'm pretty sure I had all the wan miniports as well. I can see them when I view hidden folders but they are greyed out. If I double click on one, it says "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect the hardware device to the computer"

This problem started when I used the official avast Uninstaller tool to uninstall my avast free anti-virus in safe mode (as was recommended in the tool). After that I could not use the wifi anymore!! I do not have a system restore point before all this happened so I cannot use that method.

Please help me asap I have no other devices I can use besides my phone! If you want me to download any tool to run on my laptop, I will download it on my phone and transfer it to my PC! Thanks in advance!!

Re: WIRELESS CONNECTION LIMITED!

Update:

I can no longer access my laptop. The programs were not responding so I forced shut it down by holding down the power button and when I turned it back on it got stuck on the windows logo. Sometimes it carries out the automatic repairs but then the blue screen appears asking if I want to restart or use advanced settings. Restarting does not help.

I tried to do a sfc scan in safe mode with command prompt but it was only successful up to 69%. I then tried to do a chkdsk scan and repair but that required me to restart the system and I cannot find anything to click after I close the cmd window. So I tried again this time Using a command to restart the laptop but it again got stuck at the windows logo and did not run the chkdsk scan.

Please help me. If not to fix it, at least to be able to backup all my files!!

Another update:I managed to get to my files through safe mode and backup everything. I also managed to complete a sfc scan and dism restore health. They said everything was alright and not corrupted and repaired but I still can't get past the windows logo loading screen when I try to use the laptop normally. I also still can't carry out a chkdsk scan and repair.

If you can no longer access your laptop, how did you get the files off?

What is the current condition of the laptop as of right this minute? Can you get into Windows?

I assume that your original complaint was that the wifi was not working?

If you can get into Safemode with Networking and try to browse web sites, that would be great. It would help tell us if some start-up software, like Norton, was interfering.

Hi I have a wireless connection issue (obviously) and my laptop is running windows 8.1 pro

I can't send anything out from my laptop so I'll type out the ipconfig result as best I can :

!!

You can't send anything out, but you can receive things?

Try reinstalling the wifi driver.

Go to Device Manager - type devmgmt.msc into a CMD screen.

Expand "Network Adaptors" in Device Manager.
2x-click the wifi adaptor listing
Click on "Driver" Tab
Click on "Uninstall"

Re-boot the system. Windows will reinstall the wifi driver upon boot-up.

Test and see if wifi Internet is working.

The other thing to try is to connect to the network with an Ethernet cable. If no Internet connection there either, then we're looking at something other than just a problem with wifi.

Lastly, being at college, don't they have a help desk?

Don't get mw wrong, please - we're more than happy to help. I'm just wondering if the school offers computer help as well.

Regards. . .

1. I managed to get in through safe mode.
2. It's just stuck at the windows logo loading screen.
3. Yes, the WiFi was the first problem. But that is no longer the case because nothing is usable now.
4. Reinstalling the driver did not help
5. Yeah its been a few days and there was nothing I could do or try to do so I sent it in...
