Greetings, some time ago I wanted to update my PC with Windows Update updates because not doing so has been causing me problems. When I try to do it, I get the next error (800703F1).
I have made the following steps in the forum, but in the second step (sfc /scannow) I have already had problems with the next message:

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

I hope you can help me, thanks.

As I said, when I try to update in Windows Update it only appears that I have that error (800703F1) and when I do "/sfc scannow" the only thing that appears is that message (Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation). Without any other type of data.

Yes, but when that error appears, it creates the information necessary for me to troubleshoot the issue at the following location: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

Please copy the CBS.log file to your Desktop, then zip it and attach it for me to review.

No problem.

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload toa file sharing service and just provide the link here.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
 5. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Unfortunately, the hive is extremely damaged and the only options you have are the upgrade to the latest Win10 version and repair install of the Win8.1 and as a last resort a clean install of course.

Ok, thank you, I supposed it. The full formatting of the PC is also an option?
