90+ patches will not succeed (even individually). I was thinking about just using a Win10 disc and upgrading without resolving the issue. Opinions?
DISM RH yields:
The restore operation completed successfully. The component store corruption was repaired.
Then SFC displays, "Beginning verification phase of system scan. Windows resource protection could not complete the requested operation."
Windows Update FixIt and built-in Windows Update fixes have been applied.
A collection of logs is attached, the file is actually a 7-Zip archive with the 'rar' extension appended for site compatibility, please use 7-Zip to open the file. View attachment 8.1_logs.7z.rar
Thanks in advance.

Alright. By the way, you are free to try to upgrade to Windows 10 with the disc and simply launch the setup.exe process. Since it's an upgrade, it should solve the current issues you're having under Windows 8.1.

Windows 10 won't complete. The error is " we couldn't install windows 10. we've set your pc back to the way it was right before we started installing windows 10. 0x80070006-0x2000c The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during APPLY_IMAGE operation " which appears to be relatively unknown.

There's a big thread on reddit about this error.

https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/3f10oy/we_couldnt_install_windows_10/

We can try some of the solutions listed there.

Alright, now unplug every USB devices and peripheral that you have on your computer. Leave only the keyboard and mouse, plugged in USB 2.0 ports directly on the motherboard, and then attempt to upgrade again. Let me know if you fail at the same place, and with what error code/message.

Freed up another 11GB of data, removed printer connections and listings in devmgr, disabled display adapter (q35) and audio (soundmax), removed lightscribe ("system software"), upgraded malwarebytes 2.1.6->.8 and the biggest one i believe was i downloaded via the media creation tool to a usb drive and installed the upgrade from launching the setup file off of the drive. To note, everything was re-enabled when win10 started. Thanks for the assistance.

No problem corshin, glad to know that you managed to upgrade to Windows 10! :)
