I finally decided to upgrade my Windows 7 system to Windows 10 after performing 40-50 upgrades on other friends, co-workers and family computers over the past few years. I was going to blow everything away and then decided, “hey, this has gone smooth on everyone eles’ machine, why don’t I just Upgrade my own? I’d rather not re-install everything…”

Of course….the plumber’s pipes are always leaky, mechanic’s cars are always broke down and IT people’s machines…when they have issues, are ones NO ONE else has… LOL

Of all the machines I’ve done, mine is producing the:

0x8007001F - 0x20006 – “The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during the REPLICATE_OC operation"

Of course, like any other good IT guy (25 years in the business), I did my research and the like: sfc checks (no integrity violations), SSD check, windows update repairs, deleting the updater cache….blah blah blah. Nothing has worked so far…..

Thinking it could do some good (and it was a requirement by you guys, I ran the SURT program and it took quite some time to finish. I attmpted the upgrade again afterwards and got the same issue. No dice. :-( I rebooted after the failure and re-ran it so I could capture what you requested.

So this is my last resort. Hope you can help….there’s a donation coming to you guaranteed. Seems like you guys know what you’re doing….

Per your website, I’m following your posting instructions. Don’t worry about the e-mail account name…it’s just my secondary 😊

Full Disclosure: In an attempt to clean up the "old CBS" folder, I renamed it to OLD and re-ran SURT. I basically got the same log files, so I don't think I did anything to messup of falsely report the issue.

Per your posting instructions, I'm attaching the necessary files for you to review. I hope you can help. TIA!

Hi!

Let's start by fixing part of the corruption that has been detected.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Afterwards, run SURT again and attach CheckSUR.log.

SoftwareManiac, Thank you sincerely for such a quick post!

After reading your post and downloading the script, I started with a fresh reboot. Once in Windows, I ran the script per your instruction.

The SFCFix.txt file was too long for the site post here (warning my message was too long @ over 200000 characters) so I've attached it with the HTML (Code and end Code) added in the text file. (I'm thinking I didn't need to do that, but I out it in anyway)

I also re-ran the SURT and attached the CheckSUR.log file as instructed.

Thank you for your assistance so far.

- Chuck.

Thanks for the logs.

You may also retry the upgrade to Windows 10 at this point.

Good evening, SoftwareManiac...

This evening, I started with a fresh reboot. Once in Windows, I ran the New script per your instruction.

Attached the SFCFix file again....((post was too long again))

I've attached the CheckSUR.log file as instructed.

If I'm reading these right...it looks like I might be able to do the Windows upgrade....I don't see the same errors as before and SURT went A LOT faster this time.

I'll try the upgrade next and post back to you once I've had a chance to go though it. I'm using the upgrade using the Windows media Tool and choosing to Keep applications and files.

Thank you again!. I'll post soon...

Softwaremaniac, I'm very happy to report to you I had a SUCCESSFUL IN-PLACE UPGRADE to WINDOWS 10 Pro last night. Thank you to you and your team so very much for your assistance!

I'll link you a donation later tonight after I review your site on how to do so.

@softwaremaniac I couldn't send you a private message (you have exceeded quota) so...

>>Hello my friend...

I just wanted to tell you again how much I appreciate your help. I know it's not a ton, but I've donated <<private>> spot to you. (see b5dude donation)

I figure this isn't your main job and is something you do on the side. Like most of us old school IT folks (I've been doing this stuff for 27 years :-) It's kinda tough for me to be on the "user" side of this one LOL), we normally can't escape it. lol

Good to see someone that knows how to do this. I'm sure it's "fun" for you, so I hope you are able to get a little something from it. God knows I wish I knew how to do it! :-) ((I'm allergic to coding :-) ))

Take care and I'll look you guys up again sometime :-) Your work is much appreciated.
