Hello gentlemen!, this is the thing: I have to update my W7 Ultimate to SP1 (each time I turn on the laptop the reminder appears), but I can't see the update listed on Windows update (I already try to fix it by reset "Windows Update components", but still the same. All the updates are up to date), and by reading on Microsoft support page this usually happens when a system component is missing.
Worth the clarification that format it's not an option for me.
So I proceeded to try it with the standalone file (this one: Download Windows 7 y Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) from Official Microsoft Download Center), and I got the msg "One or more system components that the service pack requires are missing..", I've seen that this is a common issue, but I couldn't find the solution yet.
The things I already tried without success:
- running SFC /SCANNOW Command multiple times (this might be important: When I ran the SFC /scannnow, I still getting a message saying that sfc scannow finds corrupt files but can't fix them, may be that's the issue)
- try Troubleshoot problems installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
- reset Windows Update components
- Run System Update Readiness Tool, to fix Windows Update errors in Windows 7
- Run SFCFix
