Hi,
I have been experiencing an error in updating the Windows 7 SP1, since it got released and I put it off, since I couldn't find the resolution after many attempts. Now, I'm forced to resolve this issue, since my work VPN doesn't allow me to connect without the SP1.

This time I found your forum and it's quite promising. As you've suggested here, I ran the SFCFix and attached the log along with CBS.zip, for your review. Please take a moment to review and advise. I would highly appreciate your help and time.

Thanks!!!!

First thing I would like you to do is the following.

4. You should now have a black window open that you can type in to.
5. Please type chkdsk /R and then press enter. Note: There is a space after the command chkdsk and before the forward slash
6. You will get a prompt telling you chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use. Answer Y and hit enter to schedule the run at next boot.
7. Reboot your computer and chkdsk will run. Let it complete please.

8. Download ListChkdskResult.exe by SleepyDude and save it on your desktop. If it's already downloaded to your desktop, just skip this step.
9. Right-click this file and select Run as administrator (Allow if prompted)and a text file will open (and also be saved on the desktop as ListChkdskResult.txt).

It doesn't look like you ran it correctly. It appears you ran chkdsk and not chkdsk /R as the instructions stated. Can you redo as there are issues that need resolved.

Code:
The Volume Bitmap is incorrect.
Windows found problems with the file system.

Hi, the CHKDSK /R is still running, at stage 4 of 5. And it looks like it would run for another hour or two.

i will keep you posted, with the log as it completes.

Thanks

Hi BrianDrab,
Here is the log from CHKDSK /R... As suggested from the diagnosis, should we run with parm /FIX to fix this "The Volume Bitmap is incorrect. Windows found problems with the file system." error?
I highly appreciate your help. Please advise.
