I have disabled the Windows Update service and have not installed updates since June.

It seems that if TrustedInstaller.exe is executed, the machine will eventually become unusable.
I have experienced
- Never-ending 100% hard drive access (most common)
- Blue Screen Of Death
-----
What I have tried:
- sfc /scannow
- It gets to 50% and hangs. Using Resource Monitor I can see that TrustedInstaller.exe is not running when I start sfc /scannow. TrustedInstaller.exe begins executing when I execute the SFC command.
- Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64.msu - Windows Update fixer
- The first time I ran it, it began installing and eventually failed.
- Each time I run it now, it causes a Blue Screen of Death
