I'm getting a few errors that I haven't seen before:

Wusa.exe – Bad Image
C:\Windows\system32\wups.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

^ Same error as above but path is C:\Windows\system32\wu.upgrade.ps.dll

Windows Update Standalone Installer - Installer encountered an error: 0x80004002 No such interface supported.

When running Windows Update Automatic Updates: Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer.

All necessary services are running. Tried restarting services and re-registering all DLLs from cmd following instructions here:

The command ‘sfc /scannow’ said that it fixed errors but was unable to fix others.

We also ran that command while in safe mode with networking.

With some google searching I was brought here and am not sure what else to try. This is probably my last stop before an OS reinstall but I would like to avoid that if possible.

Thank you for the response and yes. I have tried some other tools like the one here: Windows Repair (All In One) Download but the repair fails immediately before anything is changed. So at this point the system remains unchanged from when I last ran the commands above and the SFCFix program.
 
Please start with the following.

Step#1 - System Update Readiness Tool (SUR)
1. Download and run the following file.
2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.
 
Is there an alternative to this tool? I only ask because so far any attempt to install any update that installs using any part of Windows Update (Including Windows Update itself) I get .dll errors.
In the meantime I will try and get this installed tomorrow around noon and post the results.

As expected, the tool produced the same errors that I've received in the past. Attached are the images of all errors that pop up.
 
I'd also like to add that system restore to a point before this began is not an option as no points exist before that time. Using a Win7 SP1 disc I also did not get an option for any repair besides startup repair.
 
OK, please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

2. When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer yes. Note: It could take 15 minutes or more to run. Please don't cancel.
3. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
4. Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
