Hi,
I use Windows 7 SP1 (Home Premium) 64-bit on an Asus X53E laptop. I ran SFC /scannow and chkdsk /r which have identified, but not fixed, a corrupt PINTLGB.IMD file. Research indicated that the corrupt file could be caused by Asus Webstorage. I uninstalled that application but, after rebooting, the corrupt file remained. I have run Niemiro’s SFCfix which also flagged PINTLGB.IMD as corrupt but was also unable to fix it. I rebooted and ran SCFfix again with the same result. Copies of the logs for SFCfix, CBS and CBSsur are attached.
I do not know if it is relevant but I noticed that SFCfix identified my system as being “Windows 7 Service Pack 1 - amd64”, however, the machine has an iCore 7 64-bit processor, not an AMD chip. I have attached a spec for the system produced by Piriform’s Speccy application.
As background information, the system has had the following problems which I think may be due to the corrupt file:
1. Windows Explorers is unstable and frequently crashes, often entering a crash/restart/crash loop, when used by an Admin account (including new, clean accounts) but OK for a standard user account.
2. Install of a new version of the Paragon back up application fails.
3. Install of a Canon printer fails (due to “missing file”).
Any assistance that you can give with this problem would be much appreciated!
