Re: SFC finds corruption in two dll files. using sfc fix does not auto fix the proble
Hi, Brian and software ..
After applying your specific fix, the scannow reports no integrity violations and i thank you for your sincere effort in solving the problem.
But on viewing the cbs.txt created, there are number of entries, which is not explaining anything about the fixes. I assume that the missing files have been provided and they were executed to fix the problem.
But why the microsoft does not care deep about this? It should be auto detect the fix and do the needful . There may be number of systems which would not have attempted sfc /scannow.
Is my presumption correct, in that there are corruptions in some of the system files and it fetches from the installed folders of windows and winsxs to fix this . If those files in two locations or still more locations, are also corrupted, the sfc scan reports there are errors, but failed to fix automatically.
By chance, i came to the site and accordingly get my problem solved.
But what are those pending renames of so much lines. Even, the present cbs.txt contains so much lines of not understandable words or alphanumeric characters .
I sincerely feel that you are doing much service in this regard, than microsoft.
If i see some threads in ms forum, they simply say repair windows or get the files from the installation DVD, without realizing that it involves permission and other issues of take ownership.
Please see the logs and confirm that problem is solved.
I also presume that my source dvd or the install folders are having corrupted files so that could not be repaired. Does that mean that if i have these fixes executed after installation, my sfc scan would show no integrity violations.
I feel less is done in this regard by microsoft for windows 7.
Please confirm that the sfc problems are fixed and if possible , write about how the sfc scans? I find move..and other type of hitherto not heard phrases of repairs in the cbs.log
