I've tried to install these "important updates" several times with the same result - updates failed, error code 800B0100. I downloaded and installed tool KB974821 - tells me it installed - same problem. (I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do something else with KB974821 - do I have to "run" it or is just "installing" it enough? Instructions could certainly be clearer)[/FONT]
[FONT="]I tried downloading and installing the updates manually - no luck - I get varying error messages, such as "does not apply to your system" or "for a different hardware platform". [/FONT]
[FONT="]I tried all of the above with my firewall/antivirus shut down as well -- with no lack
