This has been going on for months now. The reason I am trying to fix Windows 7 is it won't let me upgrade to Windows 10.
I have run SFC /scannow many times (including from bootup command prompt), and also run SFCFIX and SURT several times.
I have done quite a bit of extracting and copying files from the install disc (install.wim), and even downloaded new ISO's to make sure I had the correct files.
As you can see, SFCFIX no longer detects any errors, yet SFC /scannow still produces several errors with "Cannot repair member file...Hashes for file member...cdosys.dll.mui do not match actual file"
The corrupted folders with 6.1.7601.18113 listed in the CheckSUR.log file do exist in my WinSXS folder, yet they are empty.
I have also repaired permissions on the Winsxs and SysWOW64 folders, run virus scan, chkdsk, and defrag, yet I still have errors for 21 cdosys.dll.mui files.
I did a repair install a while ago, which did not fix the problem.
I have attached a zip file with my CBS log folder, it includes 1 previous CBS.log file, and a file with just the error lines (cannot-repair.txt)
Please help!
Thank you,
Ross Diamond
