Running Windows 7 64-bit. Attaching CBS.log, CBS.txt, and SFCFix.txt

Also seeing the following errors in the Event Viewer; they may be unrelated (color-coded so it's easier to read). Don't know how much of this is due to a failed Visual Studio 2015 install.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Sorry for the delay. Are you still in need of assistance?

Re: Cannot update MSE, and now cannot reinstall Microsoft Secuity Essentials (MSE)

Thank you, but I decided to simply reinstall the OS. Now I am having issues with Visual Studio 2015 (sucessfully installed) with Microsoft Excel 2000. Excel does not shutdown completely when it is terminated by the user. The task manager keeps an EXCEL.EXE running. Each new instance of Excel creates another one. I am pretty sure this is VS2015-related. So far, I have not found a solution to this.

OK, thanks for letting us know with regards to the Windows Update/Servicinig issues. Good luck with the other. Unfortunately we don't have the expertise in this forum to assist you with that.
