Re: Win7SP1x64 BSOD random freeze and crashes.
Hi. . .
You had no BSODs prior to the installation of the new NVIDIA video card?
There were 3 dumps in the attached zip. Dates of the BSODs are as follows:
Code:
[COLOR=#ff0000]042417[/COLOR]-29078-01.dmp
[COLOR=#ff0000]050417[/COLOR]-36504-01.dmp
[COLOR=#ff0000]050717[/COLOR]-37908-01.dmp
The earliest dump that occurred on 24 April did name NVIDIA as the probable cause. Did you install the new card by then + update the driver?
Driver Reference Table - nvlddmkm.sys
Regardless, make sure that you have the most recent driver installed now.
The second dump did not provide much information to help us (actually, it provided no info to go on at all).
The third dump was somewhat interesting as the bugcheck was
0x3b (0xc0000005,,,) - system service threw a exception; the exception is the first number inside the parenthesis of the bugcheck -
0xc5 = memory access violation. The very interesting part is that the Microsoft File System driver
ntfs.sys was named as the probable cause. This means that the hard drive needs to be checked out.
Do you have dual boot Windows?
I see two hard drives - one is ~112 GB; the other is 1 TB in size. Based on partitioning and partition size (the 100 MB partition that Window creates), it appears that two versions of Windows reside on your system.
I assume that the 1 TB drive is an HDD (v. SSD)? If so, run SeaTools for DOS, LONG test -

If the smaller hard drive is an HDD too, run SeaTools for DOS on it as well. If SSD, check out this test -
