Hi-

I hope you are doing well

Like a lot of other users that you have helped, I am having failure issues when trying to upgrade from Win7 to Win10 with keeping my files intact. I keep getting the Error 0x8007001F - 0x20006 and then reverts back to Win7. I need to do an in-place upgrade since a management program on the machine would not able to be reinstalled if I was to do a fresh install.

Steps I have taken:
- Attempted to install last Monthly Roll-up update for windows 7 KB4534310 - Update install keeps failing with error 0x802400D.
I've tried both routes, including using Windows Updates Installer and have downloaded the update from the Windows Catalog to manually install with no success.
I have used WuFix and WuReset batch files to clear update cache and SoftwareDownload folder with no success there, either.
Made sure all neccessary windows updates were installed to allow the Roll-up update to be installed.
- Removed Sophos Antivirus and enabled Windows Defender
- Removed CCleaner
- Removed unnecessary software
- Tried uninstalling CarbonBlack Defense Sensor, but am unable to
- Tried using multiple versions of win10 installers; 19O9, 20H2
- Followed your Posting Instructions, completed all the steps, and your requested files are attached. The CBS.zip is here: CBS.zip

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide and the time you have taken out of your personal lives to volunteer your services.

Great.

Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log.
  1. Download SURT for your system. (Windows 7 SP1 x64)
  2. Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go through the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes).
  3. On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log.
  4. Attach this log to your next reply.
Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.

Looking good. Perform Step 2 also.

No problem. The CheckSur log is clean.
Try the upgrade again and report the result.

Hi Peter-

That took care of it. Thank you so much for all of your help and quick responses. I'm sorry it took a few to get back to you on the results. I was just waiting to make sure the Win10 updates installed successfully before giving the Thumbs up.

I appreciate you taking the time with this.

I will make a donation as soon as I click Post.
