Hi!

Step#1 - Export registry as hive

  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type regedit
  • When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing
  • Once selected, click File > Export....
  • Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (.).
  • Name this file ComponentBasedServicing (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Right-click on the saved file and choose Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
  • Attach the .ZIP file to your next post.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload to SendSpace and just provide the link here.

Hi!

Unfortunately, this hive is damaged beyond repair and unless you have a backup your only option is to do an In-Place Upgrade/Repair Installation of Windows.

Are there a chance over the regback files or an regbackup in Restorepoints to get this broken hive back?

In the following picture thera are 2 RegBack Destinations, is any of this files usefull?
Is the compenents File equal the CBS hive you mean?

I cant send both files because one of them is locked by System.
I do this over TeamViewer for an old Friend with very little computer knowledge.
I cant reboot from an WinPe or ActiveBootDisk or else from here now.
Only tomorrow morning this is possible, or is there an other way to unlock that file, perhaps over an Unlocker Tool?
Here it shown locked by System:

One worked and the one in Folder "C:\Windows\System32\config\RegBack" not, because locked by System.
The one manualy backed up in "C:\RegBackup\USER-PC\06.03.2019_12.25.58\C\Windows\System32\Config\" works.

are you sure? i can open it in editor.
Ok i will zip the other file in 8-12 hours when i can sit in front of that System.
I will boot from an WinPe and zip the now locked file then and send it to you.
Have a good night and thanks for helping me.

ok, i try your suggested way for repair install, thanks for your friendly help.
