Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named softwaremaniac. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

Please delete SFCFix.exe and the attachment you have previously downloaded and download the tool and my attachment again and follow my instructions once again.

Deleted the exe and previous zip, downloaded 2 items again, ran ---> sfcfix.txt, rebooted, sp1 install...no luck

Let's take a different approach,

reboot your PC first, then delete SFCFix.exe and the zip file from your Desktop and re-download them and try following my instructions.

Download the previously attached archive file, SFCFix.zip and save it on your Desktop;
Once it's downloaded, right-click on it and select Extract All...;
Check the Show extracted files when complete checkbox, change the location to C:\Users\<username>\Desktop and click on Extract;
On completion, the Desktop will open. Open the two folders created on your Desktop and make sure that you indeed see files in them;
Now, open your Notepad, and copy/paste the following inside it:

Code:
icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /save %userprofile%\ACLFile
takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /grant administrators:F
copy %userprofile%\Desktop\amd64_atiilhag.inf.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_en-us_a84b3670179ab5eb C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /setowner "NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller"
icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore /restore %userprofile%\ACLFile

icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /save %userprofile%\ACLFile
takeown /f C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /grant administrators:F
copy %userprofile%\Desktop\amd64_atiilhag.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_019357585ef99a63 C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository
icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /setowner "NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller"
icacls C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore /restore %userprofile%\ACLFile

Once done, click on the File menu followed by Save as.... Save the file on your Desktop and give it the name Script.bat;
After that, go on your Desktop, right-click on Script.bat and select Run as Administrator;
You should see a command prompt open and close quickly, let me know once this is done

my bad, didn't understand first ...:-)
....

OK i see, i make a note and copy your text inside, save it as .bat and run ?
