Hi Win7 3GB RAM 1TB Toshiba HDD based PC.
Experienced BSOD Page_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA with a reference to NTFS.sys, (STOP 0X00000050) otherewise PC seems to be running ok.
I tested memory with windows built in (PASS), and Memtes86% (ALSO PASS)
Crystal Disk INfo is reporting drive as healthy. Also tested with Toshiba drive diagnostic (since its a Toshiba drive) also pass.

Just recently learned about SFXFix, it said it fixed some but not all problems (even after mounting a Win7 image) Attached SFCFix txt file.

Basically budgety concerns and Mangement says it works so keep using it.
Sorry about not send the BSOD info. Let me work on that.

So I have noticed the BSOD collection tools seems to collect information I would rather not want public like computername and usernames etc, can I strip them out and send the files? Otherwise I'm not comfortable sending so much data out that migh be available to others.

I would mention to management that Windows 7 support ended in 2020 and it hasn't received any updates since then. The system is a much greater risk of being compromised by ransomware etc.

The collection app doesn't collect any information which could compromise your system, the computer name and user names are all trivial. You can redact them from the files - apart from the MSINFO32 file - but honestly you can get the machine name from the dump file.

I live in a third world country so our problems are a bit different and randsomeware isn't as common here. Updates aren't seen as a priority at all. Heck I've seen XP machines being used where I live and I think a DOS machine as well, basically what I'm trying to say is we are behind the times and what you would consider a modest system in your country would be considered high end for many people. I should be fair here and say if we did buy a new PC it would come with windows 11 (We're not savages) :)

Anyways I've added the BSOD collection zip (redacted as best I can) I hope I didn't break anything.

Hi!

You can generate a msinfo32 TXT report in this way:
Msinfo32 /report "%userprofile%\desktop\MsInfo.txt"
Then you can modify usernames and machine name, save the file, zip it up in the file collection and remove the nfo file.

Hope this helps.

Microsoft did offer free upgrades from Windows 7 to Windows 10 when Windows 10 was initially released. You can always suggest a free operating system like Linux as well to your management team. Most Linux distros still work great on older hardware and can actually breathe new life into them, although, there is quite limited support for x86 systems now.

Your dump file doesn't reveal much, although, because of the age of the system and the sign extension issues in your dump file then I suspect that there may be RAM problems. I would running MemTest86 for at least 8 passes (will require two runs of 4 passes): Test RAM with PassMark MemTest86 (version 7.4 was used)

I know, but that would require a hardware refresh and I'm not seeing that for now. Again third world probles are a bit different for 1st world for example a 5 or 6Th gen Intel i5 is considered pretty great! And I think you know what is the current generation. And there's no telling what used hardware might try to get to replace this, and they sure as hell not going to buy new.

As for memtest I believe I only did 2 passes, I will find time for them to run the 8 or so passes as you suggested. Thanks Anyways! Fortunately I've had to put the PC back into use and haven't seen any issues yet.

ok thanks! Do you have a guides for optmizing Windows 10 ? I want to see what ways it can be speed up without needing to use modified ISO's which I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

You don't need to optimise Windows 10, the default system settings are fine. Windows 10 is very different to Windows 7, it will take care of itself.
