Hello,
this forum is my last hope. I haven't been getting updates on a Windows 2016 server for months. I tried pretty much everything you can find on the net (e.g.: install update over dism (online and offline), repair windows update, install an older updatepack,...)

The check for updates works, they are also downloaded and installed, but after the restart there is always an error message in the update history: Error during installation

There are only problems with the cumulative updates, MS Office updates work.

Hello and welcome to Sysnative!

Step#1 - Capture Process Monitor Trace
1. Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
2. Try installing the update just like you have in the past.
3. Stop Process Monitor as soon as it fails. You can simply do this by clicking the magnifying glass on the toolbar as shown below.
11908d1430506241-windows-updates-fail-repeatedly-stop-jpg

4. Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
5. Zip up and attach the LogFile.PML file as well as your CBS.log

Hello,
the interesting thing is that the installation of the update is successful and only the restart has to be done. After the restart, however, the message appears that the update could not be installed.

here are the logfiles:

cbs.zip

Please try the following:

DISM

no printer is directly connected, all print jobs are handled by the spool server.
Users on this server uses different printers:

If it didn't work the first time, it's not going to work the second time. Can you tell me (if you remember) what was done on the Server before updates stopped working?
