Hi!
I have tried out many possible ways to solve the problem but still have no success ((

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22621.525]

1. Windows Update doesn't work - Error 0x800700c1 to all updates
2. SFC says - Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service. (not even in Safe Mode)
3. DISM performs check it takes always about 5-7mins and says (tried downloading WIN11 image file and linking to it - the same problem persists)

Update - I can't even perform an installation of Win11 from downloaded updated version - during installation process at about 60+% installations crashes with an unknown error....

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download
56f31e53c97da-SFCFix.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

WOW!!
This seemed to work! Thank you very much!

I will definitely donate to Sysnative! thanks!

It seems that most pending updates have been done, but the latest one (2023-04 - KB5025239) doesn't seem to successfully work...

The SFC service started working but it returned an error fixing corrupted files.
DISM returns the same error as before:

C:\Windows\System32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

C:\Windows\System32>DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.22621.1

Image Version: 10.0.22621.525

The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see Configure a Windows Repair Source.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

I am attaching new SFCfix file and CBS folder - maybe you could look into it for me and tell me if it is allright or something additional should be done?

Anyways, thank you very much for your support, you have been very helpful!
