I was brought this computer because it reboots daily trying to install the 1607 anniversary updates. It fails to install and then rolls back the update and tries again the next day. I've ran the SFCfix from the website and it completed successfully. I've attached the CBS log files.View attachment 25207
Re: [Win10 1511] Anniversary update will not install
Please start with the following.
FRST Fix NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop. Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop. Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Re: [Win10 1511] Anniversary update will not install
Please zip up and attach all logs in the following location. It will likely be too large to attach so you can upload it to a file sharing site such as SendSpace and then just provide the link.
C:\windows\system32\winevt\logs
Re: [Win10 1511] Anniversary update will not install
After reviewing all the logs I would like you to do the following.
1. Uninstall Avast. If it's a paid version, make sure you have any serial/registration info so you can re-install once upgraded.
2. Unless absolutely critical, Uninstall Windows Live and Nikon Message Center 2
3. Remove or disconnect any extra hard drives from the computer with the exception of the boot drive. This includes any removable USB drives and any accessories that are plugged in.
4. Create a new user on the machine and add this user to the Administrators group.
5. Sign in with this new user.
6. Perform a clean boot following the instructions at the link below. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows
7. Start the Windows 10 Ugprade. When it gets to the point where you can click Next to do the install, first disable both the wireless and wired network adapters.
8. Do the Upgrade
Re: [Win10 1511] Anniversary update will not install
Did all that. Walked away for a bit and when I came back it was in a reboot loop. Rebooted about 4 times and now it is restoring the previous version of Windows.
Re: [Win10 1511] Anniversary update will not install
Bummer. OK, please do the following.
1. Right-Click your start button and choose Command Prompt (Admin)
2. Answer Yes to the UAC prompt if it appears.
3. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt window and hit enter. reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /s >1.txt && notepad 1.txt
4. Notepad will open showing the WU info. Can you copy and paste this into your next reply?
Re: [Win10 1511] Anniversary update will not install
We need to find the driver responsible for this. Please look for the following files on your machine and zip/attach them.
The minidump file: c:\$Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupmem.dmp,
Event logs: c:\$Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback*.evtx
The device install log: c:\$Windows.~bt\Sources\Rollback\setupapi\setupapi.dev.log
Re: [Win10 1511] Anniversary update will not install
OK, please do the following.
Step#1 - SFCFix Script Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
Download the file below, SFCScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCScript.txt.
Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
