[SOLVED] Win10 update problems / Start menu and Right click not working / SFC and DISM fail

Hello,

my Win 10 version is 1803.

I've got many problems since several days and it's geting worse time after time.

- Start menu is not working anymore.
- Right click on start menu not working anymore
- Search (cortana) not opening anymore when clicking
- I can not open Settings, Parameters, etc (the new Win10 apperance settings panel is not working)
- I can open the control panel with Windows + R , then type Control panel
- I can open cmd, powershell windows
- I can play some games like WoT, surf the web

I also noticed that many apps like online antivirus scanner can not update because they can not find internet connection.
Even SFCFix has failed when trying updating.
- zemana antimalware can not update
- f-secure online scanner can not update
- eset online scanner can not update
- trend micro housecall can not find internet connection
Very strange !!

Of course my internet connection is working, i can surf, even play some games, but some specific apps are unable to update. I think this is the update process that is generally not working.

DISM
I ran DISM with WIn10 last ISO file downloaded and mounted
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:WIM:N:\sources\Install.wim:1
Got Error 4448 and fail at 4,5%
WOF driver has failed with compressed file

SFC
sfc /scannow
failed at 7%

Last but not the smallest thing ...

I've got a message right down my screen telling me to Activate Windows !!

Of course my Win10 is good with correct license.

Never had this before. This disappears when rebooting, but it comes back after a few hours.

This is extremely difficult to fix, because even if we sort out the corruption, many little problems like the ones with the Start Menu remain. However, our users have had positive experience with a Repair install (their settings were kept intact and their issues were rectified).

Are you open to that possibility? If not, I can try and assist nonetheless.

Hello !

Yes i am open to a repair install although i would prefer this to be the last solution. I would like to keep my apps and settings intact in case i do this, if possible, or I'll have to save everything i can from the C drive if i have to format this drive for a reinstall.

In fact I already tried to launch a repair install with a USB W10 install stick, from within Windows 10, not from the USB after having booted on it, and i got a crash after 60%.
