Dear Team,

A little background. I have an old Windows Server 2008 R2 that I want to migrate to Win 2016 server using Microsoft Server Migration Service. For that I must first install the WMF5.1 on my old device so I followed Microsoft instructions on this page.
After the script checked the prerequisites and I accepted EULA or what not, it started the installation process that got stuck at about 90%. After a day or so I just killed the process.
Afterwards I started to look for solutions and stumbled upon your helpful bunch :D and tried also various suggestion in your forum, alas without avail. :(

I went through the list of things to do which you posted here.
I registered, I ran SCF scan, I ran SUR/DISM Scan (MS Readiness Tool), I ran SFCFix scan and I ran FRT scan. All logs are attached and all came up with no errors.

I also took the Win7AndW2K8R2-KB3191566-x64.msu file apart and checked KBs within.
[MSUInstallOrder]
0=Windows6.1-KB2809215-x64.cab -> Was properly installed during the MSU installation:
Package Identity : Package_for_KB2809215~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1
State : Installed
Release Type : Update
Install Time : 08-08-20 11:10
1=Windows6.1-KB2872035-x64.cab -> Was properly installed during the MSU installation:
Package Identity : Package_for_KB2872035~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0
State : Installed
Release Type : Hotfix
Install Time : 08-08-20 11:11
2=Windows6.1-KB2872047-x64.cab -> As I have seen in the output logs somewhere, this was skipped as my system does not match. I guess its for Win7.
3=Windows6.1-KB3033929-x64.cab -> Was already installed in 2015:
Package Identity : Package_for_KB3033929~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.1
State : Installed
Release Type : Security Update
Install Time : 10-07-15 18:00
4=Windows6.1-KB3191566-x64.cab -> Now this one is the problematic one, as you can see in screenshot it just get stuck on "Processing 1 of 1 -"

I have for this Windows an Extended Support now (ESU) and there were no problems with Windows Updates. Also for the online update.
Among others I tried a solution that I read in your forum to rename the whole Software Distribution folder to reset the updates. I did that but after a while the DataStore.edb file grew to 2Gb and my Windows Updates are again OK. I still cant install that KB.
Currently after 11+ hours the CBS.log file is 3Gb and keeps growing. The trusted Installer is doodling something all the time making the log bigger and bigger.

I have a smaller version of the CBS.log when I tried it before for a shorter time and the CBS is only 50Mb. Opening a 3Gb text file in notepad pose some issues. ;) I will attached the smaller one for now.
If you need the most current one then let me know, its a 3Gb file and zipped its

I will be most grateful for your help.
Regards
NanomasQ

Guys,

As silly as it may seem but on my last attempt yesterday evening I was so annoyed and tired that I just left it running and forgot all about it. Now to my astonishment and shame in front of you all...
The KB was in fact installed successfully after around 24 hours of running time...

Just wanted to let you know about it before any one starts to spend his time on log analysis.

Lesson learned: Patience dear Padawan... ;)
