ASUS x550v, i5 3230M 2.6GHz, 6 GB RAM
Windows 8.1 x64 for one language.
I have a post on Microsoft Support with some more pretext if needed
Basically I cannot install the latest update for my Windows - KB4534297 of Jan. 14th. Windows Update Center shows error 0x800700d (I don't remember the text now). I tried:
Troubleshooting - didn't help;
Changing the name of SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution.old - didn't help;
Manually restarting services - didn't help;
scf /scannow - found corruptions but could not repair them;
DISM - gives away error 0x800f081f (source could not be found something)
Tried some other commands, including /StartComponentCleanup, /AnalyzeComponentStore, /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase - non worked, same error;
Got an image of Win 8.1 with install.wim, tried to make it a source - didn't work, same error;
Tried to install upd-s manually; the descripton mentioned, that it'd be better if SSU (KB4524445) was installed first; I downloaded it, launched - it installed successfully, I then proceeded to downloading and installing the KB4534297 - it just said "updates were not installed" without errors;
Meddled with SFC and DISM some more to no avail;
Downloaded Malwarebytes, scanned my system - it found two suspicious files, but non of them were system files;
Dowloaded SFCFix, ran it - no apparent results.
So, here's what I have:
CBS.log file before running SFCFix (if needed)
DISM.log file before running SFCFix
SFCFix.log
CBS folder after running SFCFix

Hi!

Here's the first part of the fix:

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

    Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Sorry for bringing it up, but it's been 6 days since the last reply. Is there anything else I can do?

BTW, today I ran Windows Update again, and it managed to install KB2966828 for .NET Framework, but KB4534297 is still failing - this time with error 80073701, "There was a problem with WUC".

Sure, down below.
sfc /scannow failed yesterday too, just like before. I will provide the logs if needed.
