Hi,
I've been having issues with windows update for some time now. Have tried numerous fixes from Microsoft and other forums to no avail.
So happy to have found yours.
So I ran sfcfix and it gave me these results which do not correlate with any that you mention, so I'm at a total loss as to where to go now.
I've also attached the dism log file and a previous sfcdetails file that I had run.
Sure hope you can help me out.:banghead:

Hi fishhawk,

Do you still need assistance with this issue?

Alright let's start by running SFC and grabbing the full CBS.log (sfcdetails.txt doesn't help us here).

EndqYRa.png
System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png
    Run as Administrator
  • On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • On Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";
  • Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Enter
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  • A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;
Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't have the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

OK thanks Aura, but I've already done all that and I uploaded the cbs.zip file as you people suggest since as it was too big.
Please check that out as I did it right after running all of the above. It was uploaded successfully.
Thanks

I don't see any CBS.zip attachment in this thread.

I could not attach it because it was too big so I uploaded it as per your site's instructions attached to my fishhawk name.
It may be in my subsequent submission that I had to do because my edit time ran out waiting for the file to zip.

I don't see any attachments. If it's too big, upload it to a cloud service (like the ones listed in my instructions) and post the download URL for it here.

It seems like I need to ask your permission to download this file. I need a public download URL. To get a public download URL, go on Google Drive's website, right-click on the file and select Share. From there, click on the Get shareable link button in the top-right corner and copy/paste the URL that will be given here.

Also, which instructions did you follow? Mine? Here?

Now it worked, thank you. Sadly there are no traces of a SFC scan in that CBS.log. Can you run it again and provide me a new log?

Good, thank you :) Follow the instructions below please.
