I run Wibndows 7 pro Service pack 1For some time now, Win 7 keeps asking me to 'Restart your computer to install important updates', but if I do restart the pc no update is installed and once Windows restarts it immediately asks me to reboot in order to update. No matter how many times I reboot, it still wants me to reboot again next time! Furthermore I can't access the "check for updates" area of "Windows update" nor can I manually install any update as windows tells me that the installation of a previous update has to be completed first!This affects the installation of some microsoft softwares as well. For example I can't install "Windows Essentials 2012" as windows tells me that a previous update installation has to be completed first.CBS log is being uploaded via SFCFixScriptHere is the content of the SFCFix.txt file:SFCFix version 3.0.0.0 by niemiro.Start time: 2016-12-27 12:20:13.632Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 - amd64Not using a script file.AutoAnalysis::SUMMARY: No corruptions were detected.AutoAnalysis:: directive completed successfully.Successfully processed all directives.SFCFix version 3.0.0.0 by niemiro has completed.Currently storing 0 datablocks.Finish time: 2016-12-27 12:21:08.306----------------------EOF-----------------------ThanksMichele
Hi and welcome to Sysnative. I need to collect some info. Please do the following.
1. Click your start button and type cmd in the search box.
2. Right-click on cmd that comes up in the search results and select Run as administrator. Answer Yes to the UAC prompt if it appears.
3. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt window and hit enter. reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /s >1.txt && notepad 1.txt
4. Notepad will open showing the WU info. Can you copy and paste this into your next reply?
Please do the following, reboot your machine and let me know if things are better.
Step#1 - SFCFix Script Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
Download the file below, SFCScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCScript.txt.
Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please
