Running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Have 64 bit Win 7 (could upgrade) but current computer won't run 64bit. Need to find a path from here to a 64 bit ready HP Desktop (which I have already) System and all programs/files on two 2tb WD 7200 rpm. Know I have to clean install and have owned copies of both Win 10 pro Win 11 pro 64bit but how do I take my programs and files with me??? I do not even know how to begin. Live on a mountain and no techs near. DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE MY OLDER PROGRAMS and DO NOT want to be 'online' all the time. No Microsoft 365 EVER. Trying to upgrade but stay off the cloud as much as possible. Thank you in advance for ANY advice.

Thanks for asking and pushing me. Had to get some cables, other connectors and set up new computer. The transfer will begin tomorrow AM. Both excited and a bit nervous. Will let you know after. Nice to know you are on my team. :-)(y)🌈

Am still putting it all together, new cables, DVD, lots in process. Cleaning out programs (currently 340 installed, 15 years of my life) I don't want transferred, updating others and scrambling to find all the licenses. Am hoping to hook the two computers together SOON. Will let you know.

Almost ready but moving from desktop with Win 7 Ultimate with 2 2T drives C/D/E/F/G to HP Z4 G4 Workstation 4.00GHz Xeon W-2125 32GB RAM 512GB NVMe SSD
and called company to ask if I should put in blank drives or copy over D/E/F/G and they could not answer. AARGHH... Any opinion?

Thank you for responding. I am well aware of space requirements. My initial conversation was about using PC Mover to go from old desktop win 7 32 bit to newer win 10 64 bit desktop and one of the moderators suggested Laplink PC Mover which will work for me. I am now getting ready for the move. The question was about when I add two 2T drives to the 'new' PC for comparable space, only C drive will be on the nvme ssd, can I copy over old data or will I need to let the program run and copy data from the NON system drives. Clearly you don't have the info and unfortunately Laplink support did not have the info either so I will be working it out myself and report back when done. Appreciate all Sysnative does. I have been helped greatly in the past.

It could be I didn't understand your question, but I'll try to respond...

Assuming you have enough space on your new PC, the job should be simple for the program.
Reading their webpage, you need to install the program in both PCs, then start the transfer.
They also offer free transfer assistance: Laplink® - Free Transfer Assistance

You can always move data from C: to the other drives, before the transfer or later.
It is not recommended to move some folders: Windows, program files, programdata.

Does this help?

I am not good at asking questions apparently. BUT I will get this done and tell the forum what I found out about easy/hard transfer issues. The Laplink 'assistance' couldn't answer or even understand my question either and it is not covered in the manual for the program. All is well. I will get it done. Onward and upward. I will report back after... Have a great weekend.
