Laptop, HP DV9700 Removed a memory stick so Laptop only had 2GB installed (people reported problems with 4GB) Installed Retail Upgrade Windows 7 from CD, formatting C: in the process Activated Win 7 online Installed only Firefox Browser with Lastpass addon Performed all online updates only up to SP1 (138 or 141 updates) Downloaded SP1 Standalone from Microsoft, burned to DVD, and saved to HD Downloaded SURT - Windows6.1-KB947821-v32-x64, saved to HD Ran SFC - no integrity violations Ran SURT - no problems found Clean Boot Disabled IE9 Started Installation of Standalone Win 7 SP1, output: "Installation was not successful "ERROR_INVALID_DATA(0x8007000d) Ran SURT - no errors Ran SFC - no integrity violations I'm about to boot the system through the window!
