[SOLVED] Win 7 Error 800B0100 Security Update Won't Install

I'm receiving this error on KB2871997 and KB2922229 and have exhausted published suggestions from other sources. I should have come here first, no?

SFCFix runs with no errors. See below. CBS info appears below the SFCFix info.

I have also run the Upgrade Readiness Tool from MSFT to no avail.

All help appreciated greatly!

SURT Package replacement

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Click Here to download Packs.zip and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
  3. Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
  4. A window will open showing two folders, Manifests and Packages
  5. Open the Manifests folder and copy the files into the following folder (if there are any files)

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests
  6. Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder (if there are any files)

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages
  7. Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
  8. When the SURT finishes installing, copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the SURT log into your next post please:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

Can you try Windows update again please? please report if you get anther error and what the error code is.

Partial Success: KB2871997 appears to have installed successfully but KB2922229 is still failing and the new error code is 8024200D. Shall I restart the process or shall I provide specific logs?

That error is common after repairing corrupt files, the fix is simply just downloading the file and manually installing the update.

Please download the file from Here once downloaded please install the update.
