WIN 7 Component registry corruption where there is no component hive

I have an Acer aspire D260 netbook that is giving me grief which i dont think a repair install will fix I'VE already done 3 clean installs of win 7 ultimate and each time it refused to update ended up resorting to Komms update to update the machine i have ran sfc/scannow which reports no integrity violations ran checksur which reports corruption in the components registry hive so had a look in the registry only to find there was no components hive!!! is this normal behavior in win 7 ultimate 32 bit? so i copied the hive from the hidden administrators account dont know if that was wise but thought that was it solved until I ran checksur again nope same problem hope you can help

Seemed to have fixed it it was a problem with windows activation I entered these command prompts got a popup saying I was activated and then I was able to download updates these were the command prompts
net stop sppsvc
(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)not seperately
CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
net start sppsvc
slui.exe
then I ran checksur again no errors detected
CheckSUR.persist.log :: Free File Hosting - File Dropper: File Host for Mp3, Videos, Music, Documents.

Sorry to see that it took so long for someone to notice your thread and post in it. Was your issue solved (that's what I can understand from your last post), or do you still need assistance?
