Hello,

New here and trying to solve a Win10 update issue. I have tried everything I can find online including the below but still get this error; "2020-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4537762) - Error 0x800703f1" and "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64 (KB4486153) - Error 0x800703f1".

  • Windows update trouble shoot
  • Installing update via win10 install webpage
  • chkdsk c: /scan and get "no problems found"
  • SFC /Scannow but get "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
  • Tried Tweaking.coms Windows repair tool
  • Tried stopping net stop wuauserv & net stop bits then deleting all in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution but no change
  • Tried NetFxRepairTool and also tried installing NDP48 direct but no change as both fail
On one of the commands I tried in cmd, can't remember what it was, it gave me the result "Configuration Registry Database is Corrupt"

I have also tried to upgrade to win11 however my pc doesn't meet the requirements.

I really don't want to have to reset my pc if at all possible and haven't made a back up or restore point for a long while.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A little more.

C:\windows\system32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.17134.1

Image Version: 10.0.17134.765

[== 4.5% ]
Error: 1009

The configuration registry database is corrupt.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Also attached is the ComponentsScanner log and the zipped CBS directory.

So tried NetFxRepairTool again and seemed to work. It allowed me to install NDP48-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.

I then restarted and tried updating again. This time it had "2020-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4537762) - Error 0x80070002". I downloaded and manually installed the Win 10 Servicing stack update. It seemed to take.

Tried the update again after a restart and now says I am missing "Windows 10, version 1903" So I am in the middle of trying that update.

Seems to be heading in the right direction..... hopefully.

Downloaded and installed the update and restarted the PC and comes up again saying missing important updates and need to download and install "Windows 10, version 1903".

However when I check for updates it now says I need Version 20H2 so the above may have stuck. Will keep doing this till hopefully run out of updates to install.

Don't Know what is going on. Checked again and says now it needs v1903 installed again, see below.

However in the update history it shows that was installed prior to 20H2.

So I did the v1903 update again. Once restarted check as says "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes". Check for the update and says it needs v22H2.

Install v22H2 and restart and again have the same warning but says it needs v1903. It is stuck in a loop with these two versions.

Any suggestions?
