Hello.

I have been trying to install the october monthly quality rollup updates for weeks, but they always failed to install , showing error 0x80070011.

I tried many solutions ( sfc scannow, boot in safe mode, troubleshoot windows update), but the error persists.

Thank you for your help.

The latest logs are clear. Please attempt the update again and attach CBS.log if it fails.

Still the same issue.

When computer install updates (before shuting down) it blocks at 18% and it shut down. After restarting it tries again to install updates from 15% and blocks showing the message "Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update". It then restarts one more time and cancel all the modification done.

After digging a bit deeper I found an interesting thread on google group : Google Groups

After following part of the instructions given, I successfully opened the pending.xml file and the third line of code is particularly interesting
<Transaction TransactionId="TI4.30700585_2386996966:4/Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~17134.376.1.8" AttemptCount="1" LastErrorCode="80070011" DiagnosabilityString="POQ Operation HardLinkFile OperationData \SystemRoot\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-u..tings-windowsclient_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.376_none_5bd668e619edb32c\analyticsevents.dat, \??\D:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Diagnosis\WindowsAnalytics\analyticsevents.dat">

Consequently I looked for the analyticsevents.dat file in the according folder which I found but It might be corrupted I don't know (size is 1kb).
I attached both the pending.xml & analyticsevents.dat file to this post.

PS: I did move both my Users & ProgramData folder from C to D drive a month ago after doing a complete reboot of the computer but after installing w10. However windows updates was working flawlessly.

Thanks again for your help !

Please attach CBS.log and C:\Windows\setupapi.dev.log.

Can you please temporarily uninstall your antivirus software while we troubleshoot? If using Windows Defender, you can just disable it.
