Hello ev´rybody!!! Glad to be "fighting" here again... the facts: Some days ago using Windows 7 Ultimate i connected a 16Gb pendrive to my Pc via usb with some .mkv & pdf files inside. My intention was to copy some other files (i had almost 8Gb pendrive free space) from win 7 hd to transport them; i did it and then i got a big surprise: when i read memory all the files -pendrive natives & the new ones copied- suddenly changed their original icons to a square-blank form icons & also changed files extensions to "Archive", plus all they changed their sizes to 8 kb (?!¿¡). It was impossible for me to get access to the files & needless to say i wasn´t able to recover the files -none of them- so i switched it off & pulled off pendrive. Then, sitted as the Fool on the Hill i´m wondering what kind of malware am i dealing with, & what do i have to do to save my system (if infected, God doesn´t want it!) & also my pendrive -less important, i could do LL format it- But, i´m so, so affraid about my 2 Tb Win 7 hard disk -i´ve got all inside it, years of pictures, my life is almost inside this drive- so i´m begging for help to solve this big trouble...please I´m all ears, right? Thanks in advance & Happy 2020 !!!...AlinVis ;)

Hello Satrow...i´ve been out of scene for the Holiday weekend + Three Kings Day, so please excuse my delay. I´m not sure if i explained clearly that changed extensions files i´ve found were located only in the aforementioned pendrive i used. After that -doubting- i tried test operations with another pendrive & ev´rything was ok with the files copied -i did copy, transfer, erase, copy again, etc- so i definitely blamed the fault to the original 16Gb pen i mentioned in my first log... & it was! I did a total data erase, a full surface test & partition again & pendrive recovered all functionality. This could end here
but i´ve gotta say i´m so, so sorry to take up your time with an issue i posted in a hurry that i could have solve, thinking twice before do it.
So i want to apologize for that & let U know i´ve learned for sure how i should proceed next time i use the forum. Lesson learned...Thanks for all !!!
