There is are an endless number of things to read online. How do you choose the good from the bad ? The informative from the fakes ? Too much reading or just enough details ?

Everyone has their own taste in the sites they will read. If you are interested in how systems fail (computers primarily, but other types as well) an excellent starting point is "The Risks Digest" RISKS-LIST: RISKS-FORUM Digest which is a moderated forum of mostly news items with some attached technical commentary of how things go (or could go) wrong in the application of technology.

This forum has been around a long time, originating out of a Usenet newsgroup, it has articles dating back to 1985.

For the builders of the future, it is worthwhile to read some of the things that have gone wrong in the past.

Do you have a favorite site you read daily ? Tell us all about it. :smile9:

Check multiple sources. And if any say the same thing, make sure one is not verbatim of the other.

Very true, especially today!

I suppose my question could have been better phrased, in that I was thinking more along the lines of a "good" online resource that you would read periodically just to get some insight to a particular topic. For example I could read Slashdot (and I do occasionally), but it is overflowing with so many articles that reading through it daily would consume a large amount of time.

Mostly I am just curious what interesting sites are out there that people find useful. It does not matter what the topic is.
