I live in the Bay Area. There are wild fires all around the area. We've been dealing with smoke/bad air for weeks, today was our 24th consecutive Spare the Air Alert. But today was a day like no other I've seen. It was like the sun never came out, and the sky was red all day. Like a total eclipse all day, but red. You literally could not tell where the sun was, no bright glow, just dark and red. Headlights on all day.

‘Apocalypse on their mind’: Bay Area transfixed by foreboding, orange, smoke-choked skies - SFChronicle.com

It reminded me of the movie Night of the Comet

People are describing it as Apocalyptic...very unsettling...

Today was brighter, but because the smoke was lower. We need a good rain, but that's a four letter word here (well, it is everywhere, but you know what I mean :) )
