Hey i'm having trouble with this file and i cannot seem to get it to work at all. I've ran the software given in the guide on this forum and it says that the corruption has been fixed however after running a check it appears it's still present. Any ideas?

Looks good. Run sfc /scannow again and report the result.

Re: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions

Coming up with Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. However It's still not fixed my origional problem of trying to install a drive for some software, i'm still recieving the same error message of coming up as database: C\windows\installer\inprogressinstallinfo.ipi cannot open database file system error -2147286788. Which led me to this.

Re: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions

Ok. The issue you started this topic with is fixed. Let's have a look at the other problem.

1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
4. Press the Scan button.
5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Re: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions

A warning note about so-called PC-fixtools. They often do more harm than any good. Why do you have SmartPCFixer 4.2 installed ?

Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.

1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
3. Press the Fix button.
4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Open Control Panel - Folder Options.
On the tab View, uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
Click Yes on the warning message.
Select Show hidden files, folders and drives in the list.
Click Apply.

Open Windows Explorer.
Right-click the folder C:\Windows\Installer and select Properties.
Open the Security tab.
Take a screenshot. Read this on how to take a screenshot.
Upload the image file to a file-sharing site and post the download link.

Re: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions

The folder C:\Windows\Installer lacks the owner TrustedInstaller.
Please do following to add the owner TrustedInstaller.

Open Windows Explorer.
Rightclick the folder C:\Windows\Installer and choose Properties.
Click the tab Security.
Click the button Advanced.
Click the tab Owner.
Click the button Edit.
Click Other users or groups and type in NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller. (Note the space behind NT)
Press Ok on all dialogs until all property dialogs are closed.

Any improvement with the issue trying to install a drive for some software ?

Re: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions

Done, and no it's still coming up with the same error message when trying to install the software.

Re: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions

Please repeat the instructions in message #14 and post the download link.

Re: CNBJ2530.DPB and prncacla.inf Corruptions

You did it just fine. The screenshots look normal to me. Unfortunately me knowledge on this stops here.
