W8.1 Update problems again

Hi there,

Again Windows Update problems. This time SFXFix could not fix it directly. Attached the SFXFix log file. Any suggestion?

The two files reported as "corrupt" do not need to be repaired.

What issues are you experiencing with your computer?

The "wuauserv" service not run at my computer and the service could not be started.
 
Please do the following:

SFC /SCANNOW

  • Press the Windows Key
    pdKOQKY.png
    + r on your keyboard at the same time. Type Notepad and click OK.
  • Copy the three bold lines below and paste into the Notepad document:

    sfc /scannow
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\CBS.txt"
    del %0

  • Click Format. Ensure Wordwrap is unchecked.
  • Click File, Save As and name the file sfcscannow.bat.
  • Select All Files as the Save as type. Save the file to your Desktop.
  • Locate sfcscannow.bat
    lmRDSkT.png
    on your Desktop. Right-click the file and click
    AVOiBNU.jpg
    Run as administrator.
  • Upon completion, a file (CBS.txt) will be created on your Desktop. Attach this file in your next reply.
  • Note: If the file is too large to attach, upload to a service such as Dropbox, One Drive or SendSpace and provide a direct download link in your next reply.

Farbar Service Scanner (FSS)

  • Please download FSS and save the file to your Desktop.
  • Right-Click FSS.exe and select
    AVOiBNU.jpg
    Run as administrator
    to run the programme.
  • Place a checkmark next to each option and click Scan.
  • A log (FSS.txt) will be created on your Desktop. Copy the contents of the log and paste in your next reply.

Please do the following:

  • Press the Windows Key + x on your keyboard at the same time. Click Command Prompt (Admin).
  • Type net start wuauserv and press Enter on your keyboard.
  • Right-click the Command Prompt window and click Select All. Press Enter on your keyboard to copy the text. Paste in your next reply.

Try running Windows Update and let me know how you get on.

Running Windows Update give this dialogbox: "Can not check for updates because the service is not running. Maybe you must restart Your PC".

And of course I tried several restarts.
 
Please run the following programme:

Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) Scan

  • Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (x64) and save the file to your Desktop.
  • Right-Click FRST64.exe and select
    AVOiBNU.jpg
    Run as administrator to run the programme.
  • Click Yes to the disclaimer.
  • Ensure the Addition.txt box is checked.
  • Click the Scan button and let the programme run.
  • Upon completion, click OK, then OK on the Addition.txt pop up screen.
  • Two logs (FRST.txt & Addition.txt) will now be open on your Desktop. Copy the contents of both logs and paste in your next reply.
 
Apologies, please redo the last set of instructions, only this time - remove the checkmark next to Services under Whitelist.
