Hi
My system (Windows 7 SP1) is now acting strangely. I think one of my sons tried to install Free WIFI and this seems to have done the damage. I eventually got it back to nearly normal after boot but then it starts degrading - the Sound Controller stops, some of the programs won't work ie Administrator CMD.exe and Thunderbird for example, etc. It was showing bulk amounts of Consent.exe but I seem to have fixed that, sorting and indexing do quick nose dives and various other bits and pieces fall off. Now every scan I can think of, AVG, MBAM, Anti-spyware, etc shows those programs as clean and the system as OK. So now I am just wondering if there is some Malware or if my system files are very corrupted. I have run SFC, SFCFIX and DISM and it shows 12 files from the CSI Stores as corriupt -
My original run of DISM showed many AVG files but most were repaired.
Has anybody come across any thing similiar or have any suggestions on how to repair the system. I'm thinking of an Upgrade Repair next if any thing else doesn't work. Would prefer not to go down the path of total re-install.
Cheers
