Since installing new guts for my computer and upgrading from 7 to 10, I've been having just the worst time getting the audio on anything streaming to work properly, particularly if i'm downloading anything in the background (Steam updates especially!) I don't have this problem in audio on games at all, and LatencyMon is implicating ndis.sys and tcpip.sys as possible culprits.

trace.etl is here: Dropbox - trace.etl

Hi grumbus,

Welcome to Sysnative :welcome:

It looks like the latency is coming from Nvidia display driver.
Do you have the latest drivers installed?

...huh. well, I guess that was where the trouble was coming from. Guess they just recently patched whatever problem was causing this, I just didn't expect it to be graphics card-related, so I hadn't checked that, just drivers for Ethernet and sound card. Thanks!

I spoke too soon! It's doing it again! Should I run another trace?

Re: dpc latency from ndis.sys and tcpip.sys?

Hi grumbus. :welcome:

Could you provide missing logs? See POSTING INSTRUCTIONS for DPC/ISR latency, stuttering, cracks/pops.

By the way:
- new bios available.
- the ram sticks should be seated in DIMMA2 and DIMMB2 (i.e., 2nd & 4th slots, starting from the cpu).
- I wasn't able to find a "vengeance rgb" stick of 4GB, or kit of 2 x 4gb sticks, on corsair website. Could you provide the exact model?

OK, i updated the BIOS which seemed to help a little (but there is still pops and crackles in my audio often enough for it to be distracting), and I was mistaken about the RAM: i only have one 8GB stick in DIMMA2 (it came in an 8x4 and only have one currently installed) this is the model CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4-24000) C15 - Intel 100/200 Series Desktop Memory - Newegg.com

here's the link to the new trace I just ran Dropbox - trace.etl

RAM model not present in MB QVL, and vice versa.
Check if its frequency is 2400MHz, 2133MHz or 1866MHz.
If it's greater, try to set it at (one of) those values.
