[SOLVED] [W10v1607b14393 x64] Still running W10 v1607 on Lenovo T400s.

I have a Lenovo T400s running Windows 10 version 1607 build 14393.1770. And it is running without any problems. I regularly receive Windows updates although quite often a "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems" will fail but a day or so later the same KB number runs successfully.

But like I said everything is running ok. I have been just waiting for the Creators Edition (1703) to load but it never has. I have read I could download it manually but haven't since my laptop has been running fine. I see now there is Fall Creators update being rolled out.

I do remember about a month ago Windows popped up a screen asking me to review my privacy codes. There was one that was turned on that I turned off. My thought then was it was an additional privacy feature in the new update and it was getting ready for the Creators Edition. But it never loaded.

So my question is why has this laptop been passed over for the update and is it okay that I just run without it?

Run sfc /scannow from an Admin CMD prompt and let us know the outcome (pass or fail messages).

I ran sfc /scannow and got the message "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".

Sorry it took so long for my response.

When I started this case I was looking for a solution to why I was not offered the update to 1703. But I decided to install the 1709 version the last week of October. It seems to be running fine.

But I do have one question. Shortly after I did the upgrade a Security Update for Adobe Flash player
(KB4049149)​
was installed on 10/26/17. This is the only update that has been installed. But I do have a message in Settings, Windows Update that my device is up to date and it was last checked today.

I think I am all right but I am just used to getting more updates when I was on version 1607. Is this what I should expect?

You will probably get another update next week. If you feel everything is well, I wouldn't worry. You could run sfc /scannow just to ensure that the upgrade has worked as it should have.

I did get two more updates on 11/15/17 so I guess it is working okay.

I did run a sfc /scannow and it did not find any integrity violations.
