Hi anphetamina. :welcome:

I've seen you updated the bios.
Did you load optimized defaults? If no, try it.
MB not present in gskill QVL.
Ram not present in MAXIMUS VIII RANGER QVL.
Possible RAM incompatibility?
Similar compatible models (listed in QVL list):
Read More:
MB specs: 4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory.
i5-6600k Memory Types: DDR4-1866/2133, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V.
Current ram speed unknown, I'd set it to 2133MHz (if it were different).
Slots used: unknown.
NVIDIA GPU driver seems to be the latest one (WHQL).

The ETL trace is old, another more recent trace could be better (although it isn't simple for me to analyze it, there could be other more experienced users that will see it).

Current ram speed unknown

I've tried loading optimized default and set the RAM to 2133mhz but that doesn't help
Slots used: A2-B2

How big should be an etl file? the command 'xperf -on DiagEasy' doesn't work

Re: [W10ProV1703b15063 x64] nvlddmkm high DPC lat., MSI GTX1060 6GB, i5-6600k, ASUS z

Try to disable:
- nvidia share
- everything in windows - settings - gaming
- auto-scan in GTA V settings

Try to set windows pagefile to a fixed size, as an example: 8192MB (both for initial size and maximum size).
Try to uninstall CorsairLink4.
Try to close discord when you're gaming.
Did you check the driver list on your manufacturer support webpage?Did you update those drivers?
Show us your nvidia control panel settings.

Yes, every driver is up to date

Thanks for your suggestions, analysing the etl file would be very helpful, I've already tried those tweakings

Hi anphetamina,

Does this issue occur with different GPU drivers?

Re: [W10ProV1703b15063 x64] nvlddmkm high DPC lat., MSI GTX1060 6GB, i5-6600k, ASUS z

Yes, even with a brand new GTX 1060 3GB.
I've tried both slot PCIe of my motherboard.
Anyway those nvlddmkm.sys spikes from latencymon aren't related to freezings in games, I noticed this today, when GTA V freeze the latency didn't rise up

Re: [W10ProV1703b15063 x64] nvlddmkm high DPC lat., MSI GTX1060 6GB, i5-6600k, ASUS z

Try to change GTAV settings (in nvidia control panel):
  • Vsync off
  • Maximum pre-rendered frames to 1
  • Shader Cache Off
  • Threaded optimization On
GTAV graphics settings
Grass Quality Normal

GTAV advanced graphics settings
Extended Distance Scaling "all the way down"
OR disable them all

Stop and set startup disabled to these Windows services (this could turn off SHADOWPLAY):
Nvidia Streamer Service
Stereoscopic 3d driver service

I was playing The Division and after 1.5h my PC reboot without showing any BSOD.
The only thing changed is that I activated Debug mode for my GPU and nothing else. How can I see if I have a problem with my PSU?

Re: [W10ProV1703b15063 x64] nvlddmkm high DPC lat., MSI GTX1060 6GB, i5-6600k, ASUS z

There are four ways:
  1. Through software (Everest, cpuid HWManager, HWInfo, and so forth): check if the voltages are in their ranges.
  2. Try another working PSU: if you, or a friend of yours, have got it.
  3. With a power-supply tester.
You couldn't have it and it has got a cost (€10-€40?).
It's an automated task, but I'm not sure if it is safer.
I.e., I don't know if a non-electrician could do it without risks. See point 4.
  4. With a multimetre: but in this case, you should be an expert electrician.
And you would already have tried this.
Hence, don't do it or try to ask in an "electronic shop", if they can do it for you.
It seems this method could last a hour (therefore an estimated, by me, cost is between €30-€50... With that money you could re-read point 2).

Voltages are ok. Today The Division started to freeze like GTA V and I've noticed that my GPU is making a buzzing noise (coil whine) when under load. When freezings occurs the GPU usage is dropping to 0 and then come back an run the game normally.

Yes, last night I run memtest86 for about 10 hours, 5 passes, no errors, I previously did two more tests, 8 passes (8 hours) for each ram stick plugged at once, no errors too

Try running Unigine SuperPosition benchmark and see whether you get a reboot, should put a significant amout of load onto the PC.
