Good day!
I meet OS freezes for 10-15 minutes every time when WU starts. Three month ago it was freeze for 1 minute. The time for freeze is grow up for that period.
I have a russian version of Windows 10, so I think error screen don't tell you anything. I will try to translate it as possible with my poor knowledge of english language.
What I have tried:
1. Ran "sfc /scannow", but without success. Process is terminated with message "Requested operation could not be performed"
2. Ran DISM twice. Attempting restore with online service and with OS distributive without success. Two times got error "Component store is corrupted"
3. Ran sfcfix twice. First it works for 40 minutes and fix something. Second time I got message "No corruptions were detected". Two times sfcfix can't make ZIP files for upload.
4. Renamed %systemroot%\System32\catroot2 and %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution. Run DISM after that again without success.
Logs for DISM and SFC is attached.

Re: [WIN10 Pro x64] OS freeze when WU starts, SFC not working, DISM not working

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Sorry for the delay. Please start with the following.

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload to SendSpace and just provide the link here.

Hi, Brian!
Components hive located here: Yandex.Disk

Re: [WIN10 Pro x64] OS freeze when WU starts, SFC not working, DISM not working

Looks like you have some corruption within the identity value data within the following key. I think the hex 6C highlighted below should be 2C since the character should be a comma.
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\Components\amd64_microsoft-windows-fatchkdsk_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.14393.0_none_2f3ecb61e0cfbdce

Let's try the following fix.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCScript.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Re: [WIN10 Pro x64] OS freeze when WU starts, SFC not working, DISM not working

I tried to run DISM for restore with online download and SFC reports 143 errors that cannot be repaired. SFC can't download 142 broken packages. Now downloading ISO with Win 10. After that will run DISM trying to take files from local storage. Will report about progress.

To fix the rest of them I need you to do the following and provide resulting log.

  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

  3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Re: [WIN10 Pro x64] OS freeze when WU starts, SFC not working, DISM not working

SFC Fix reports that can't unpack zip file. May be some dll missing: zlib.dll or something like that.
So I unpack script and manually parse it. Removed HKLM key and paste absent folders and files into WinSxs and restored permissions/ownership.
Now it's ok and SFC reports no errors.
Thanks a lot! You all making a very big job. And I even can't imagine what resource You are using for that. Much GB's of many windows installation and many knowledge. Respect.
