Hello, I've been unable to install the anniversary update (version 1607) since it released, but i didn't really bother fixing it before in hopes it'd be easier to fix it later and security updates would still install. I've tried most methods I could find online to fix it and nothing is working. SFC scans just says windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Also, I haven't used Avast in a long time and CBS has this after i run sfc

CBS folder
CBS.zip - Google Drive

Thank you.

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Alright, try using MCT to upgrade to the latest version and let me know the result. If it fails, please remember if there was a reboot PRIOR to failure. It will help me in my diagnostics.

There wasn't a reboot last time. just part of the way through a window popped up and said "windows 10 has failed to install" or something along those lines, but i'm running it again now.

Okay. I'm going to sleep now. I'll check back in the morning when I wake up and we'll continue :) Good night.

After running it again I got the same message and it didn't reboot.

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the attached file, SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
 5. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Attach Logs.zip that will appear on your Desktop.

I'm not sure which volume I should be changing. For some reason I have a 100mb system reserve and a 450mb hidden one on my primary drive. Both have a drive letter and neither are FAT32. Neither have the "ESP, EFI or SYSTEM" name except the system reserve one. Is that the one I should be changing?
