Hi,

1. Please attach a new copy of the COMPONENTS hive to your next post.

2. Attempt to update again while ProcMon is running.
  • Download and run Process Monitor. Leave this running while you perform the next steps.
  • Try updating the system just like you have in the past.
  • Stop Process Monitor as soon as it fails. You can simply do this by clicking the square (CTRL +E) on the toolbar as shown below.

  • Select the File menu...Save... and save the file to your desktop. This is likely the default location. The name (unless changed) will be LogFile.PML. This is fine.
  • Zip up the LogFile.PML and upload it to WeTransfer - Send Large Files & Share Photos Online - Up to 2GB Free and provide the link.

Err, maybe not? I did reboot after the SFCfix run and that had the above windows update error...

Booted up today to take the procmon log, accidentally stopped the log, and was resigned to it failing again and needing to reboot for a clean procmon run, but it finished with no errors! SFC reports clean as well. Damned if I know what happened there. I wonder if it was case of needing to do a double SFC run?

Still, fixed is fixed, so thank you!

Hi,

Mmm. maybe there was a extra reboot needed? But glad to hear that the problem is solved...
