vSphere VMs built off of Server2019 DataCenter template take long time to install Windows Updates. We use recently brought up nearly 100 servers over the past year (2023) to the 2019, nearly all used the same set of templates. Many of these servers are having the same windows update issue. We normally open the template run the Windows Updates, close out the VM and turn it back into a template. Kace (Systems Management Appliance) uploads the Windows Updates correctly, and runs the update. It can take hours to do the updates. Seems like the last October/November/December Cumulative updates have gotten long and longer, then it reboots (if applicable) and that seems to take longer than manually installing updates on a non-template VM brought up from DVD. Are there any logs I can send you to review to maybe help determine the issue? I seen Maxstar get some pretty tough issues fixed with very few posts.
