The 7B error is almost certainly not a registry problem. try calling it '7b BSOD fail' or something like that.

Stop 0x7B is usually due to virus infections or problems related to the hard drive. Have you been any other error messages? How old is the computer? Some Stop 0x7B's are caused simply because the hard drive is dead. Please follow these instructions - https://www.sysnative.com/forums/bs...ctions-windows-8-1-8-7-and-windows-vista.html You'll have to use Command Prompt though, so please copy and paste these files over onto a different computer: Code: C:\Windows\Minidump Code: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP (If available) MS-DOS copy command help Last edited: Jul 4, 2014

To answer one of your questions NO the hard disk is not dead as I removed it from laptop and placed it in a USB Hard Drive enclosure and connected it to another laptop and all file are still there and available. I hope you have the time to help me fix this now as I urgently need this laptop for work.
