hello,

I tried to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and after the restart I was back in Windows 7 and he showed me an error message that he rolled back and was not able to upgrade.

SFCScan shows no errors.

Here is a ZIP of the CBS folder after running CheckSUR. I would be really glad if someone could help me out. Thanks in advance.

Hi I'm Gary R,

I'm a Security Analyst, and a Windows Update Trainee, and I'd like to help you with your problems.

As a trainee, any instructions I give you must first be checked by a qualified update expert, before I post them. This will by necessity introduce some delay to any of my replies, so please be patient.

I am looking over your logs now, and will be back as soon as I've finished analysing them.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.

Download ... SFCFix.exe ... to your Desktop
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip below, and save it also on your desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt
  • Open the file, then copy and paste its content in your next reply.

Next ...

  • Download SURT for your system. (Windows 7 SP1 x64)
  • Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go through the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes).
  • On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
  • Attach this log to your next reply.

Please Note ... if the file is too big to upload to your next post, please upload via a file sharing service of your choice and provide the link in your next reply

Examples of services to upload to are WeTransfer and TransferKit and SendFileOnline
