Hello!
I have same problem like this "Windows Update keeps asking me to restart over and over again"

But in my case the problem started when I tried the upgrade to windows10. I can not even remember when - about 4 or 5 months ago!

Since then, in addition to requesting reboot indefinitely, I am asked to decide to perform the "immediately" or "schedule" upgrade for up to 3 days to complete the upgrade.
If I choose "immediate upgrade," the cycle repeats indefinitely.

I have tried several calls with microsofts support and they have not solved the problem. I decided to appeal to the community.

Please note that I do not want to upgrade to windows 10 anymore.
I would just like my windows7 to return to normal operation and fail to consider this upgrade to windows10 an eternal pendency.

Thanks any help

Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named PeterJ. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

I fully understand the initiative and thank you for your support.

I look forward to your help.

Hi
I followed the instructions, downloaded and execute the appropriate file (see attached)

I canceled execution after more than three hours of running...

Any other idea of what I should do?

PeterJ,

Without restarting the computer, I called check for updates.
After a while, "check for updates" said: "Windows could not search for new updates".
(image 1)

I called the link to "try get help with this error" but windows not found this error.
I pressed "Try again" button for two or three times and 69 updates were found.
(image 2)

Succeses: 58 updates; Failed: 1 update
I called "Get help with this error" but windows not found this error.
(image 3)

I restarted the computer and Windows Update returned to show the same message
"Restart your computer to install important updates".
(image 3)

I do not know if it helps, but I called "View update history" and attahed the result.
